His early childhood was spent in Kenya, but much of his schooling was in South Africa. University education led to the award of a Ph D in Zoology. His professional life has taken him to study cats on Marion Island and birds in many parts of southern Africa, research and management positions in museums in Durban and Windhoek, and education planning and research in Namibia and other countries. |

Selma el Obeid
She was born, schooled and completed her undergraduate studies in Sudan. Further education in Paris earned her two Masters degrees in agricultural development and the politics and practices of development. This was on the basis of field research in Burundi and Vietnam, and was followed by three years spent working on development programmes in Chad. She moved to Namibia in 1996. |
