RAISON has conducted or contributed to many analyses and consultancies, especially in the fields of education, health and mapping. The most important of these are listed below:

EDUCATION
  • Development of a management information system (MIS) for vocational training in Namibia (2004).
  • Development of school mapping and GIS in the Nigerian states of Lagos, Kano and Nasarawa (2001, 2003).
  • Analysis of educational statistics to contribute to a study of the impact of HIV/AIDS on the Namibian education sector (2000).
  • Analyses of survey on English language teachers in Namibia (1999).
  • Development of GIS system for materials distribution to schools in Malawi (1998).
  • Feasibility study on the development of a youth training centre in Windhoek (1998).
  • Review of education sector in Namibia for Swedish International Development Agency (1997).
  • Survey and study of school boards and parental involvement in Namibian schools (1997).
  • Integration of GIS and EMIS data into viewing query system for all schools in South Africa (1996-1997).
  • Planning of education management information system (EMIS) and GIS in Ghana (1996).


HEALTH
  • Formulation of an information system and development of a database to monitor malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS in Namibia (2004).
  • Development of mapping and GIS for health planning in Lesotho (2002).
  • Training in the use of GIS for health planners in Bolivia (1996).


MAPPING
  • Aerial photography and production of geo-referenced, colour mosaics for eight towns in Namibia (2002-2003).
  • Production of data and themes or layers for new 1:250,000 maps for northern Namibia (2000-2001).


OTHERS
  • Compilation, co-writing and publication management for a book on communal conservancies in Namibia (2004).
  • Analyses and mapping of bush encroachment in Namibia (2003).
  • Demographic analyses and mapping of water points for a study to improve the provision of water in rural areas of the Kavango Region (2001).
  • Detailed compilation and analysis of rainfall data, with over 120 maps on variation in rainfall on a monthly, seasonal and annual basis. Compiled for the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development. Windhoek, Namibia, and published as Rainfall distribution inNamibia: data analysis and mapping of spatial, temporal and Southern Oscillation Index aspects. (1999).
  • Provision of advice on the development and use of GIS for education planning and management to International institute for Educational Planning (IIEP), Paris (1999).
  • Analyses and mapping for environmental impact study for mining of stone and sand as building material (1997).
